Palo Santo

Palo Santo is a wood that is burned for cleansing purposes. It means ‘holy wood’ or ‘wood of the saints’. It has strict rules surrounding how it can be harvested. It cannot be cut down. It must be harvested long after it has died on its own. To receive what we need from it the tree must be respected.

Shamans say the spirit of the Palo Santo tree carries wisdom that enables the smoke of just a tiny piece of wood to heal people emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Each stick is about 4” long. 

When to use:

*Whenever! But if you are feeling dense energy, anger, frustration, lack of motivation, stress or any heavy emotion it would be a good idea to light your Palo Santo.

*moving into a new home/office/ or any space

*any ritual or ceremony

*after arguments or any kind of illness

The oils when burning relieves anxiety, depression, emotional and physical pain, it’s a powerful antioxidant and cleanser.

How to use:

Hold at an angle point downwards. Light from the bottom. Move around to make sure flame reaches the entire end of the stick. Be sure to use a shell to catch any ash while burning your Palo Santo. You may say your prayer, intention and move around your space. It is said to open a window so that the negative energy can be moved out of the space and the new energy can come in.
